Am I eligible for this visa?

To be eligible for this visa your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in India and have at least two blank visa pages. The passport will be stamped on arrival at one of the designated ports of entry.

Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa(Dabolim), Goa(Mopa), Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kannur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Port Blair, Pune, Surat, Thiruvanathapuram,  Trichy, Varanasi, Vijayawada & Visakhapatnam.

the following 19 designated seaports*:

COPY OF PASSPORT – A copy of the photograph/information page of your passport. Your passport must have an expiry date of at least 6 months after the date you arrive into India and have at least 2 blank pages.

PHOTOGRAPH – A passport-style photograph, this should be clear and against a white background. If the photo you submit is not suitable we may contact you to ask for another. Please note: this should not be a photograph of the picture in your passport, this should be a recent, separate photograph.

Failure to provide us with these documents will result in delays with your application. Please be advised that further documentation may be requested during the application process.

This document will be electronically tagged to your passport and does not require you to visit an Embassy or Application Centre. When providing us with a copy of your passport, please make sure you provide a clear scan/photo of the page which shows your information and photo. Do not crop out any details including the machine-readable strip that runs along the bottom of the page as shown below:

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is my visa valid for?

A 30-day e-Visa is valid for 120 days from the date of issuance, the 1-year visa is valid for 1 year from the date of issuance, and the 5-year visa is valid for 5 years from the date of issuance.

How long can I stay in India?

A 30-day e-Visa will permit you a double-entry of up to 30 days, and the 1-year and 5-year e-Visas will permit multiple entries with stays of up to 180 days per calendar year.

Do I have to attend an embassy/visa application centre in person?

No, you can apply for an India Tourist e-Visa without having to attend the embassy.

My 30-day e-Visa expires during my stay in India. Is this a problem?

No. Your visa is valid for entry into India between the date of issue and date of expiry stated on your visa approval document. You must make your first entry into India on or before the expiry date. Upon your arrival into India, your passport will be stamped to allow a stay of up to 30 days.
